Brittany Bishop grew up a barefoot kid on The Poor Fork ranch deep in the heart of Texas. The soundtrack to her childhood consisted of country greats such as Hank Williams Sr. and George Strait playing by her crib each night. She picked up the guitar at age 14, inspired by the love of country crooners her mother had instilled in her. By age 16 she was already touring with a western swing band, and from the first bar stage she set foot on she knew she would pursue that feeling forever. She finished high school while traveling to shows from El Paso to Quitaque, and everywhere in between. During this time she performed on bills with artists including Cody Jinks, The Charlie Daniels Band, Jamey Johnson, and Leon Russell. She is a regular act at The Underdog in Nashville, along with other accolades like performing at the Women in Music City Awards in a tribute to Lauren Alaina. She left home in 2015, determined to make a life for herself and her songs in Nashville. She became a regular act at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Broadway and cut her teeth performing 5 nights a week. The concrete jungle of downtown Nashville made her yearn for the dry Texas wind, and she began writing songs to transport her there. Collaborating with Grammy-nominated producer Bobby Holland, Brittany is set to release her debut record Shadow of the Valley in the coming months. The album chronicles the highs and lows of her time living honky tonk to honky tonk. Described as an “old soul” Bishop takes you through her experiences in love, loss, struggle, and triumph. “I want my songs to feel like someone finally sees you and is with you through your struggle. My favorite artists have given me that friendship through songs, which is what I want to be for others,” Bishop says. Join her as she invites you into her world, from a crowded dive bar stage in Nashville to the breathtaking quiet of the West Texas plains. In 2024, Brittany founded a charity concert called “Anthems Against Abuse,” that raised over $10,000 for victims of domestic violence in Nashville. The event garnered media attention from the community and provided needed funds for local women’s shelters and advocacy firms. Brittany has most recently toured around West Texas and is set to return this October on her “Welcome Home” Tour.
