Free Event

The Parks & Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Raising Canes will be hosting a Kids’ Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, March 9th from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The event will take place at Plum Lake, located next to the Wichita Falls Softball Complex at 1702 Sheppard Access Road.

This event is free for children 16 and under. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles and bait however, a limited number of poles will be available to borrow from Texas Parks and Wildlife on a first come, first served basis.

Please join your Parks and Recreation Department alongside the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, for a fun afternoon of fishing!

Prizes will be awarded by age divisions:
2-6 yrs
7-11 yrs
12-16 yrs

– 1st, 2nd & 3rd Smallest Trout
– 1st, 2nd & 3rd Largest Trout
– 1st & 2nd Largest Other Species

Judging is based on length not weight.
