This event usually takes place a few days before Day of the Dead and Halloween in October:
“A Celebration of Life” is an event of Hispanic culture. This holiday is not just sugar skulls and face painting, but a day to remember and honor lost loved ones; a day to celebrate the wonderful lives we all live.
The celebrated spirits are welcomed to the land of the living once a year (November 2nd).
From 5-10 pm, Travis Street (between 8th and 9th) will be lined with traditional Mexican foods, feature choreographed dancers, activities and live music including mariachis serenading the Altars of loved ones located in their own area.
