Wichita Falls is bike-friendly

In November 2019, the League of American Bicyclists recognized Wichita Falls for its efforts to create better biking opportunities by awarding the city the Bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) designation. This honor acknowledged Wichita Falls’ commitment to developing transportation and recreational resources that benefit residents. In 2023, the city once again earned Bronze Medal status as a Bicycle Friendly Community, continuing its progress by designating bike lanes throughout the city.

Cyclists can enjoy over 18 miles of the scenic concrete Circle Trail, complete with bike repair and tire pump stations. For those seeking more adventure, Wichita Falls offers mountain biking on the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail, recognized as the “Texas Best Urban Off-Road Trail.”

Wichita Falls is also home to the Hotter’N Hell Hundred, one of the oldest and largest cycling events in the nation. Every year, more than 13,000 riders from around the world gather in Wichita Falls for four days of exhilarating cycling events, ranging from scenic rides to intense competitions. Whether you’re a casual rider or a seasoned competitor, Wichita Falls has something for every cyclist.
