River Bend Nature Center (RBNC) in Wichita Falls, Texas is a twenty acre, private environmental education facility. Uniquely placed in a conflux of geographical regions, River Bend connects people to their natural environment through educational activities, environmental awareness, and conservation examples. The most popular attractions are the Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, Peyton’s Place, the Bryant Edwards Learning Center, the River Bottom Forest Trail, and the United Children’s Garden. They welcome you every day of the week to enjoy the sun, the clouds, the air, the plants, the birds, and the butterflies by touring the conservatory, walking the trails and gardens, or picnicking under the open air pavilion. River Bend Nature Center also provided gorgeous venues for outdoor events.The Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion is a 7,000 sq. ft. outdoor covered area overlooking 15 acres of bottomland forest. With cathedral-like ceilings and a breathtaking view, there are many reasons why this is the most popular venue. Amenities include restrooms, electricity, Wi-Fi, and wind guards. Seats approximately 500+. The J.S. Bridwell Terrace is a spacious uncovered area that’s planted with native vegetation and illuminated with party lights. Amenities include electricity and Wi-Fi. Seats approximately 200+. The Forest Ceremony Site is located in the heart of the Bottom Land Forest Trail. With a rustic wooden arch, and benches this picturesque location is perfect for your wedding. Seats approximately 130+.
