Presented by Membership Officer of the Horned Lizard Conservation Society, Mrs. Lynn Seman, participants will have the opportunity to delve into the fascination of these spikey little lizards. Learn about the conservation efforts put into place to restore the glory of our state reptile, along with its remarkable defense mechanisms and relevance to our ecosystem!

Explore the biology of “Horny Toads,” from their diet to their significance to the Lone Star State’s habitat and ecological picture. As voracious insectivores, they help regulate populations of ants and other insects, playing a vital role in maintaining ecosystem health. Learn about their ominous blood-squirting eye-ducts, along with their fight to survive!

Sippers will learn about how they can protect Texas Horned Lizards through conservation efforts and habitat preservation. Despite their resilience, “Horny Toads” face numerous threats, including habitat loss and pesticide use. Mrs. Lynn will investigate with participants the importance of these iconic Texas reptilian residents and why we are their best hope for survival and salvation.
